X-Lamp

The competition imposed the target to design an object with the special wood x-lam. X-lam wood is a muli layers wood, the concept start here. The idea is to project a lamp, first step is to use three layers, and act with the central. The second step is to scale the central layer and, the tird is to slide it down. This process create a cavity that permit the insert of lights. Form of the lamp is important, on the sides the light is diffuse meanwhile on the top is direct. X-Lamp can be used standing, like a totem, or hung.
L'obiettivo del concorso è stato la creazione di un oggetto con un particolare materiale: il legno x-lam. Il legno x-lam è un legno multistrato ed è da questo che il progetto ha preso vita. L'oggetto pensato è una lampada: il primostep consiste nel dimensionare un pannello x-lam a tre strati a forma di parallelepipedo. Nel secondo step si è agito sullo strato centrale riducendone le dimensioni e infine nel terzo step lo si è fatto slittare verso il basso. Questo ha creato una cavità centrale nel quale sono state inserite le luci led. La forma della lampada è importante perchè permette di avere luce diffusa ai lati e diretta nella sommità. X-Lam può essere usata negli esterni e negli interni appesa.
